Georgetown, SC – October 11, 2010 – Bell Legal Group is proud to announce that Sonya Smith has successfully completed the Certified Paralegal exam administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants, and is officially entitled to use the professional credentials “CLA” (Certified Legal Assistant) or “CP” (Certified Paralegal).
This makes Ms. Smith one of only 177 “Certified Paralegals” in South Carolina, and among the nation’s 16,218 members.

Established in 1976, the voluntary professional credentialing program was developed by the National Association of Legal Assistants and is administered by a board comprised of paralegals, members of the American Bar Association and professional legal educators.
The comprehensive exam covers a wide range of topics, including legal research, communications, ethics, human relations, interviewing techniques and legal terminology. Continuing legal education is required to maintain status.
